Working at G-III?

Anyone have recent experience working at G-III? I’ve heard mixed things.

I’ve not worked there but have heard very bad things from people who have worked there. I do know that their businesses dominate almost every category they are in though.

At a third-round interview at GIII, I was bullied by the interviewer when I kindly refused to share very specific proprietary information about my former, privately held company (I stated clearly why I could not answer their specific question, and then proceeded to share more general, publicly available information pertaining to their question). The person then proceeded to berate and personally attack me for not divulging their requested very company-specific, non-public information. If a business leader acts this immorally/dishonestly in an interview, I can only imagine how they would treat staff once employed by them.

It makes you wonder if you only got the interview because they wanted info on your former employer and had no intention of every hiring you?

I worked there several years ago. It depends on who you are working with/which division. But in general, yeah. They are not great.

Was the person who asked you this I for a very powerful “production” person in the company?

Wow- I type poorly. What I meant to ask was….Was the person who asked you for this non-public information a specific person in the company who is powerful and oddly revered in the production department? I’ve heard many a scary tale about one specific employee there and I hear she’s looking to build a team again.

@Bursting It was not in production. However, if this sort of thing is happening in multiple departments, it would appear that the company normalizes — or perhaps encourages — this sort of behavior as a cultural “norm.”
