What are the most toxic companies in the fashion industry?

Has anyone worked in a toxic environment? Co-workers? Management? The company overall?

Do not work at OneJeanswear Group. You will regret it and I already advised a friend to not do it. Long Story Short: He now knows why I told him so.

Also there are other companies to avoid so go through the road of caution.

Highlife LLC. A family owned company, with family members and friends in roles they aren’t qualified for. A part of Americo Group, Highlife holds license for Reebok, Gaiam, HEAD, Avia, and a host of other brands they couldn’t nurture due to lack of leadership.

Ellie Tahari without a doubt was the most horrible place I have ever worked. He’s verbally abusive and mentally ill. Dumpster fire

David’s Bridal corporate office is toxic. Executive management belittles staff, reduced paid holidays and vacation time. If the company stays afloat, which is unlikely, I would never recommend anyone work there.

Yikes. If you get a chance, please share your experience in the Company Reviews section. It seems more people need to hear about this.

Forever 21, california rain aka knit creations/LA mase, C-mark, golden sources…, the worst. i worked for 7/2/2/6 years respectively. if u want to be degraded or discriminated or verbally abused, by all means go for it. any small mom and pop vendor company has the same culture…

Hilarious, I interned with her years and years ago. I didn’t really work with her that much but she’s definitely a strong personality.

Wolford has a high turnover. The fish smells from the head.

I was actually just applying Here and have kept hearing exactly this. Thank you I think I will focus my time elsewhere now

All of Conde Naste. As a producer, director and photographer I have yet to receive a single payment from any collaboration or project I’ve done with members or former employees of the Conde Naste franchise. My models that have worked under Conde Naste have also reported abuse and sexism against them as well as very racist culture.

I would also say Urban Outfitters although the joke in fashion is that they aren’t fashion. IT is just clothing retail for fashion wannabes.

Visual Conductor led by Wendy Hu. She has stolen art, design, strategy and copyright from me alone and another designer and producer I collaborated and met with. She’s a phony and a fake designer and creative director. Her work is through stealing from younger more innovative or creative artists.

Darn. I wanted to get more denim experience and two ppl at my current job have come from their and said the same. I figured maybe it was worth it to have on my resume. I’ve also heard that it depends on which department head you work under

Worked for her many years ago. Learned a lot because it was a small company at the time, but she is nasty. Pits people against each other. Holds grudges. Doesn’t know what she wants, but thinks she’s the best designer. One of 2 of the most abusive bosses I’ve had in my 30yr career in the industry. I watched her mentally abuse & destroy several people who subsequently suffered from PTSD for years after.
