Salary Cuts due to Covid

Working from home, but all employees across the board making over 100K had salary cuts, % depending on salary.

25% across the board. Probably won’t go back to normal until 2021.

Excludes employees under $60K

I’m workin 1/2 time for 1/2 salary from home since Covid. Most of the company furloughed.

Everyone who was not furloughed at our company had to agree to a salary cut in April that was first t be revisited in May. After that, they simply could extend it by a simple notice, which they did 3 times, currently till beginning of August. More base level positions took 10% cut, middle management 20% cut and Corporate Management 25 or 30% cut. In addition, all who stayed on are picking the slack of the furloughed employees, while predominantly working from home

i got hit with a 40% reduction & will probably not see anything back for awhile…

The company I worked for (laid off due to Covid) gave remaining employees a 25% salary reduction. Higher management, 50%.

I was cut 20% for 8 weeks but hopefully will see some of that back-paid down the road? Not too hopeful though…

Oh I know! I worked for a very small company where I did everything. I had the highest salary so I got the largest cut and to make matters worse one person who was the newest hire (who had the next salary down from me) didn’t get cut at all but the rest of us did and I was the only one laid off. The others are still working at a 50% cut but one will likely be cut soon.

I’m a technical designer. No furlough or pay cuts. We worked from home for about 10 weeks. Dress forms at home, vendors shipping samples to our homes. Back in the office now and no pay cuts or lay offs. We were told raises would not be happening at this time. I’m very grateful for the company’s handle on this so far!

For those not furloughed, salaries were cut by 20% – no end in sight

yup, one here, 50% cut with no relief in sight of getting back to 100 any time soon, we were told. Plus, half the company got laid off, so now work is tripled and more, on 50% salary. :frowning:

First off is it legal to cut some ones pay? 2nd of all big companies are using Covid as a way of not paying people what they are worth especially minorities. As a black woman with 15 years experience discovered I am making 42k a year less that my white predecessor who came to the job with 3 years experience. To add insult to injury they lied and “gave me a 10k raise” I kept pressing for the paper work to find it was not 10k raise it was 8k - the excuse why my salary is sooo low “due to Covid” yet this company (recently announced #2 retailer) sales are double digit comping and the company has promoted 3 EXECUTIVES during a freeze for employees to get raises and promotions - 3 executives promoted and several new VP & EVP’S HIRED. To be told we will”try” to make it right in 2022 - so you want me to continue to make you money for 2 more years to have my pay be what you paid some one white 10 years previously- this is the wealth gap between black employees and white. Just to show all that each of you deal with, we have to deal with that and more!

Initially knocked down to hourly for 50% hours. Negotiated to full time hours. Now, 10% off the full time hours - but still no salary.

Company received PPP and is HIRING 3 more employees. Curious when others think full salary will be re-instated? I feel like companies are doing what they can get away with here. Unsure of the point that will tip everyone back to ‘normal.’

I would also be curious to know more about the legality of the cuts in salaries… I was mentioning this just yesterday. Especially without any further discussion on when they will be returned other then “when things return to normal” because that is not just vague and noncommittal but just another way for companies to push you to work more for less, especially when you were underpaid.
I know in some places such as Hong Kong it is illegal to not give employees this information - if you have to reduce a salary you have to tell your employee when it will be reinstated but in the US it seems like the law and power is always on the corporations side and it’s much more difficult to find an answer on.

Ugh that’s horrible. Do you might sharing the salary amounts the white person versus gap? Curious

Me black woman 15 years experience 78k white woman she had 3 years experience 120k = 42k pay gap

How do you know how much this white woman made? Was it discussed amongst you or was it a rumor that is how much she had made. That is not right to be paying someone with 15 years of experience 78k. Was this is salary cut due to Covid?

Because 2 people who were hired and started with her the same week told me and I reached out to my Director and she confirmed it. 1st rule is don’t come to a gun fight with a knife. I did all the research and did market analysis- I did it all!

We had a 25% pay cut, but they’re giving a $750 incentive bonus to anyone that comes in 10 days in July.

So they don’t have money to pay salaries but they have money to make you do what they want.

The company is Enchante Accessories by the way.
