It seems like leveraging your network is the most effective way to get a job these days, but what if you don’t have connections at your desired company?
How do you build those relationships from scratch? How have you successfully reached out to strangers that you want to work with?
I’m trying to work hard on linked in networking during this time. People suggest reaching out to strangers on linked in with things like “Hi, I saw you’re working at X. I’d really love to hear what your experience with them is like…” and try to start a dialogue. – I haven’t done this with design jobs but I’ve been able to get replies from some of the people i’ve reached out to for general connections.
