Ann Taylor/ascena group

Review on this company? (Ann Taylor, LOFT, and Lou & Grey)

I worked for them in college on the retail side-- best retail experience ever. But that was over 10 years ago and I know things can change. They paid decently and I had decent health insurance coverage.

I worked at LOFT design before the pandemic. Everyone is extremely nice to each other, very corporate, also very white. Work life balance was really good, people rarely worked late. You get to work with a big team and have constant meetings - so be prepared to speak up. I didn’t work there very long, but I was told it was hard to get promoted. You have to be really likeable and popular or apply for an opening within the company thats a step up. I haven’t kept up with how Ascena is doing financially lately, but last April they furloughed/let go 75% of the company and claimed Chapter 11. Not sure what their future will be, so if you’re thinking long term, maybe take that into consideration.
