As a mom of 2 teenagers who play sports, I am in Dick’s all the time. They are huge footprint stores and are always understaffed regardless of location. There will be 1 teenager working all of footwear, or 1 person on the whole apparel floor or hard goods, or sometimes nobody working the floor and only at checkout. I am not surprised that theft is a big issue. If I was not an honest person, I could easily walk out with a whole new fall sports wardrobe and nobody would bat an eyelash.
