Nor should it- I agree. Too much fast fashion, a glut of boring items that no one really wanted or needed. Were you in a department store in the couple of years pre-Covid? Acres of merchandise that wasn’t selling. Now people will focus on things that are more essential - underwear, sweats and sneakers, things that make them feel good, things that are good for our ravaged environment (sustainable/recycled/biodegradable) and things that have a higher perceived value- a bigger bang for the buck… they will pay a little more for a high quality item, and buy fewer total items. It is also time for smaller voices with a message and local manufacturing to be noticed. We will still have fashion- it will just be a lot different going forward.
