On Monday and Tuesday, Converse employees prepared for further layoffs as part of Team Swoosh’s cost cutting plans. Converse trimmed staff numbers earlier this week, with insider sources mentioning the apparel and accessories teams were the two arms largely affected so far. This year, Nike plan to slash two per cent of their workforce, as they ‘edit, shift and divest less critical work to create greater focus and capacity for what matters most’, according to Swoosh CEO John Donahoe.
