Will companies adopt this new way of working and continue to let employees wfh? I see nyc jobs posted but they don’t specify if it’s flex schedule or wfh optional etc

So far I’m not seeing it, though it’s really ludicrous and dated considering everyone has managed well for nearly two years wfh. I’d love to work on the corporate side of the company I’m currently with (in retail) but all of the roles in my career field insist that you have to move to Brooklyn once they reopen the office. I don’t mind traveling in for meetings, but I’m not going to uproot for higher taxes, an outrageous commute, unaffordable housing, zero personal space and less money than someone living in the upper Midwest would make. Sorry no.

From someone who sees hundreds of fashion industry jobs posted each week, we aren’t seeing a lot in the way of WFH. This is particularly true for the small and medium sized companies. Bosses like to see butts in seats.

I got a new role, that is remote, and I wish I had at least 2 days in an office. A lot of problems with who has what, and fedex charges and because I live in Manhattan, I am always the one running to the garment district. I many feel different during the coming colder months.

INdeed…butts in seats. Out of site out of mind. One VERY large company has a signicant crwe working from home. I think its about the lease they have that is about to lapse. Having less bodies to move will make MOVING easier. MOst WFH is freelance. Comapnies leery about hiring till they KNOW Covid spector is gone.

I’m freelancing in Manhattan and hybrid 2-3x week. I prefer going into office. I live in Manhattan and don’t have work space or natural light in my apartment. I detest taking samples home, which means all prep need to be done in office. Network is slow so WFH takes longer get to get anything done.
TD goes in more than design so we aren’t often there on the same days. It is 100x easier to walk 10ft to show design something on a sample for their opinion, instead of taking a pic, writing on it, sending it, and then trying to describe the issue in detail.
